About the book: Less was more for Piet Mondrian. With a strictly limited repertoire of visual elements – the colors red, yellow, and blue, black lines, white background – he strived for "universal harmony" and created a new dimension of avant-garde abstraction.

Biography: Susanne Deicher studied in Göttingen and Berlin, where she received her doctorate on Piet Mondrian in 1993. Since 1997, she has been a professor of Art and Cultural History, Aesthetics, and Architectural and Design Theory at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences.
