Biography: Joshua P. Waterman studied art history at Oregon State University and earned his doctorate from Princeton University with a dissertation on the interrelationships between literature and visual art in Silesian Baroque. A recognized expert in German art of the late Middle Ages and early modern period, he worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and was an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is currently a research associate at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg. He has been involved in exhibitions in New York, Philadelphia, Cologne, and Bruges. Till-Holger Borchert studied art history, musicology, and German literature at the universities of Bonn and Bloomington (IN). A renowned expert in Old Netherlandish painting, he has headed the Groeningemuseum in Bruges since 2002 and has been director of the Bruges Museums since 2014. He has curated numerous art and cultural history exhibitions, including in Brussels, Rome, Rotterdam, Madrid, and New York. Borchert taught art history at the universities of Aachen and Memphis (TN) and Middlebury (VT) and heads the Flemish Research Centre for Art in the Burgundian Netherlands.
