This carpet is a handmade Bidjar carpet from the city of the same name in western Iran. The region is known for its long tradition of carpet weaving. Bidjar carpets are characterized by their special robustness and dirt repellency. Due to the extremely dense knotting, the pile stands vertically upwards, so that dirt particles can hardly penetrate. This technique guarantees an exceptionally long lifespan and makes the Bidjar one of the most hard-wearing carpets.
