This handmade Rizbaf Gabbeh rug comes from the Fars province around Shiraz and is traditionally made by Gashgai and Lori nomads. Rizbaf are particularly fine Gabbeh rugs with a higher knot density, which gives them a detailed and elegant appearance. The use of hand-spun, lanolin-rich wool ensures a lively, coarse surface texture and makes the rug soft and comfortable at the same time – ideal for rooms where you like to move around barefoot. The colours are created by natural plant dyes and range from classic natural tones to strong, colourful designs. Stylised patterns from the daily life of the nomads, such as animals, plants or geometric concepts, are typical.
