About the book: Japanese woodblock prints are a phenomenon without a Western equivalent. Alongside landscapes and erotic scenes, they depict ghosts and demons as well as sumo wrestlers and Kabuki actors, who were celebrated like pop stars. This edition presents masterpieces from 1710 to 1925, with the best prints gathered from around the world.
