Rug Gashgai Carpet Wool Orange

The Kelim originates from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran and is crafted by the Turkish-speaking Gashgai nomads living there. It is a double-sided, flat-woven wool rug made using traditional slit-weaving technique, where characteristic slits are created in the fabric through color changes. The design features classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, as well as Caucasian star motifs, and combines strong color tones like blue, yellow, red, green, and beige, with the orange base design being particularly prominent.
