Biography: Marvin E. Newman (*1927) was one of the first to receive a Master of Science in Photography from the Institute of Design in Chicago. The native New Yorker photographed sports for Life, Look, and Sports Illustrated.
Lyle Rexer is a New York-based writer, curator, and art critic. He writes for Photograph magazine and many others, such as Art in America, Aperture, and Modern Painters. His books include The Edge of Vision: The Rise of Abstraction in Photography and How to Look at Outsider Art. A Rhodes Scholar, he is a member of the faculty at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Reuel Golden, former editor-in-chief of the British Journal of Photography, is an editor for photography at TASCHEN. For TASCHEN, he has edited titles including Mick Rock: The Rise of David Bowie, the volumes on London and New York from the City Portraits series, The Rolling Stones, Her Majesty, the National Geographic picture books, the David Bailey SUMO, and Andy Warhol, Polaroids.
