This handmade Rizbaf Gabbeh rug comes from the Fars province around Shiraz and is traditionally crafted by Gashgai and Lori nomads. Rizbaf are particularly fine Gabbeh rugs with a higher knot density. They are knotted from hand-spun, lanolin-rich wool, which gives them a vibrant and coarse surface texture. At the same time, the surface is soft and cozy – ideal for rooms where you like to move barefoot. The colors are created by natural plant dyes and range from classic natural tones to colorful and imaginative designs. Typical motifs are stylized depictions from the everyday life of the nomads, such as animals, plants, landscapes, or geometric patterns.
