This exceptionally beautiful ashtray – or vide poche – comes from Italy and was designed in the 1970s by Cesare Toso / Fratelli Toso. Its diamond or prism shape makes it a real eye-catcher.
The special feature: The ashtray is made of Alexandrite or Neodymium glass. This glass contains an additive that absorbs yellow light. This causes the color to change depending on the light source: in daylight or normal lighting, the piece appears in a delicate lilac or pink tone, while under cold light – such as fluorescent tubes – it shimmers in a violet tone to light blue. A fascinating collector's item for lovers of exceptional glass art.
