Very beautiful Italian ashtray from the 1950s, handmade and mouth-blown on Murano. Made of water-blue to blue-green glass, the piece impresses with its elegant, organic shape and masterful craftsmanship. The special hollow is created through an artistic glassblowing process: the hot glass mass is first formed into a sphere, then a vacuum is created by sucking in warm air, causing the glass mass to retract and create the characteristic indentation. An outstanding example of Mid Century Murano glass art.
