Carpet Gashgai Carpet Wool Orange

The Kelim originates from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran and is crafted by the Turkish-speaking Gashgai nomads living there. It is a double-sided, flat-woven wool rug made using traditional slit-tapestry technique, where characteristic slits are created in the fabric by changing colors. The design features classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star motifs, and combines traditional hues like blue, yellow, red, green, and beige, with the orange base tone harmoniously complemented by a border of the same color.
